ImPrEP at AIDS 2022

Considered the world’s largest event on HIV/AIDS, the 24th International AIDS Conference (AIDS 2022) will be held in Montreal, Canada, from July 29 to August 2, with the main objectives of mobilizing the world to unite around science, set future research agendas, turn the latest evidence into action, and forge a new consensus on overcoming the HIV epidemic as a threat to public health and individual well-being.

Once again, ImPrEP will be present at the event with a diversified program, mainly around HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP), including the organization of the satellite symposium “Evidence on the implementation of  PrEP in Latin America: results from the project ImPrEP”, in addition to the presentation of various posters.

Special mention goes to the participation of Beatriz Grinsztejn, head of the STD/AIDS Clinical Research Laboratory, at the Evandro Chagas National Institute of Infectious Diseases (INI/Fiocruz) and ImPrEP principal co-investigator, in one of the most important sessions of the event. The Prime Session will bring together renowned experts to address the topic “HIV Prevention and Treatment”, on July 31, at 4:30 PM (GMT-4). Beatriz was recently elected president of the International AIDS Society for the 2024-2026 term.

Another highlight will be the special participation of Valdiléa Veloso, director of INI/Fiocruz and ImPrEP principal investigator, at the Latin & Inter Regional Forum On Emerging Topics in HIV 2022, an independent affiliated event at AIDS 2022, on July 28, at 2:50 pm (GMT-4).
