IMPREP PROJECT: PRESENT AT AIDS 2026
The International AIDS Conference, organized by the International AIDS Society, will hold its 26th edition in Brazil for the first time—specifically in Rio de Janeiro (at Riocentro)—from July 26 to 31, 2026.
The theme of AIDS 2026 is “Rethink, Rebuild, Rise,” fostering in-depth discussions aimed at rethinking outdated models, rebuilding systems that prioritize people, and growing together through inclusive policies, innovation, and ongoing collaboration.
The event takes place at a pivotal moment for the HIV response. Amidst an unprecedented funding crisis and major cuts to global programs, it will bring together people living with HIV, researchers, policymakers, health professionals, funders, the media, and communities.
In addition to the traditional conference program—featuring plenary sessions, symposia, and oral and poster presentations—AIDS 2026 will foster dialogue and participation through community representatives who will provide guidance and support before and during the conference, as well as educational visits for participants with civil society partners and local community organizations in Rio de Janeiro. The Global Village will also be held, serving as a space where communities, scientists, and activists from around the world can connect and share knowledge.
